ACT’s existing solution and infrastructure was outdated and had significant performance issues. Additionally, since ACT had a number of manual operations including tracking driver location, call assignments and routing, this made it very difficult to meet stringent Service Level Agreements. As a result, they were experiencing sub-optimal routing, operational complexity, and high expenses. Lack of insight into business operations was impacting ACT’s ability to make quick data driven decisions. This is where we came in.
We built a custom cloud-based application to support the entire “Business Life Cycle”, from call entry and call assignment to vehicle pickup, vehicle drop-off, and invoice generation. We integrated reporting with real-time viewing and management capabilities to monitor the location and availability of their tow trucks and assign the best truck / driver to the designated incident location, along with real-time optimization of tow truck, driver utilization and response time. We also implemented interactive truck-based mobile devices that provide location details to the drivers along with real-time updates, interactive communications with control center, and navigation support.
Improved tow truck and driver utilization along with the fastest response time in the industry has enhanced ACT’s position as the pre-eminent towing company in Arizona. Their ability to exceed police department stringent SLAs and high value interactive mobile interface for drivers has enabled ACT to outpace and differentiate itself from the rest of the competition. The real-time operational analytics and integrated financial reporting we implemented has provided visibility and insights to improve business operations, and they have since reduced costs by 50% through optimized routing and tracking and improved infrastructure overall.
